USBTC Names Stegmaier Winter Warmer “Best of the Mid-Atlantic” in the Strong Ale Category

26th USBTC Winter Competition – Stegmaier Winter Warmer

(Wilkes-Barre, PA) – The Lion Brewery’s Stegmaier brand has done it again with their Winter Warmer taking the first place prize in the regional Strong Ale category at the winter United States Beer Tasting Championship.

The USBTC conducts a series of field trials with their judges sampling beers of similar styles and selecting the best to advance on to subsequent rounds. They conduct separate field trials for beers from six different regions of the country: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic/Southeast, Midwest, Rocky Mountain/Southwest, Northwest/Pacific, and California.  First, the field trials determine regional winners in each category.  Then, the top beers are pitted against each other in order to name a national grand champion.  The USBTC is held each year in two separate sessions, one winter and one summer.

The award-winning Stegmaier Winter Warmer is brewed seasonally at the Lion Brewery in Wilkes-Barre and distributed throughout Pennsylvania.
